Long Island Youth Orchestra May 9th, 2010 at the Tilles Center, CW Post College   세자르 프랑크(Cesar Franck 1822 - 1890)는 1872년부터 죽는 날까지 파리 음악원의 오르간 교수로 재직하였다. 그는 이 기간 중에 "교향곡 D 단조"를 비롯하여 "바이올린 소나타 A장조" 그리고 4개의 교향시 등 오늘날의 프랑크가 존재할 수 있게 만든 많은 작품들을 남겼다. 4 개의 교향시 중에 현재에도 목숨을 부지하고 있는 것은 "저주 받은 사냥꾼" 뿐이다. 1882년 환갑의 나이에 작곡된 이곡은 그때까지도 그가 바그너 추종자였음을 보여주고 있다.
